2013 Themed WeekendsSeptember 21st & 22nd: Hero's Weekend
Celebrate our Nation's Heroes during our Opening Weekend! Greenstreet wants to commemorate patrons who have served in the Army, Air Force, U.S. Marines, or Navy. Free Entry for person who has served in our national military program - must present military ID at time of purchase. September 28th & 29th: Grandparents & Senior Friends This is the perfect opportunity for children to come out to our festivities with their loved grandparents! All of the grandparents and seniors who visit us this weekend will be given a free 4 inch mum to plant at home with their younger loved ones! October 5th & 6th: Heritage Festival Come honor our state heritage! With the help of Four Rivers and the London Town Heritage groups, Greenstreet has created a weekend full of education and fun! This weekend we will hold our annual Pie Contest and, right afterward, the Pie-Eating Contest. Greenstreet also will have a small little farmer's market set up with the harvest of the season. October 12th & 13th: Sports Pride It's time to honor your favorite sports team! Wear your prized jersey to our events and team up with others who support the same team as you. We're expecting a lot of purple jerseys this year! We will have teams of sports lovers playing against each other at pumpkin bowling. Remember, bowling is considered a sport. October 19th & 20th: Pet's Weekend Have a cute animal at home? Do they have a Halloween outfit in store for them? Bring your cute little pet out to our festival on Pet's weekend! Enter your costumed companion to win the perfect pet competition. The Calvert Humane Society will be present to discuss tips for owning and adopting pets. October 26th & 27th: Costume Mania This is the weekend that holds our first annual costume parade. Come out and celebrate the Halloween holiday by dressing up as your favorite character. This is the chance for children and adults to march along in the parade and show off your creativity and imagination. Along with the costume parade, this is our final weekend of festivities, and we are going out with a BANG this year! |
